i took this pic with my very unprofessional camera (canon ixus 860) last year when i was wandering near le palais du louvre.

it was a winter night, freezing cold, but when i saw this strange couple hugging and kissing alone, surrounded by those magnificent haussmann buildings ablaze with the honey-color street lights, i felt so warm that i decided to freeze this magic moment with my camera.

this picture goes quite well with one of my favorite quotes about paris. it's from hemingway: tel était le paris de notre jeunesse, au temps où nous étions très pauvres et très heureux - such was the paris of our youth, in the days when we were very poor and very happy.
